Dukian (Turkish word for a small shop) prides themselves as being the 1st coffee roaster in Plovdiv.

The café is located in the heart of Kapana district in Plovdiv and it is a picturesque as it gets. Old cobblestone streets, small shops and restaurants and the smell of freshly roasted coffee.

What makes Diukian unique, in my opinion, is the availability of fine Robusta (Coffea Canephora) beans. The place specializes in espresso-making and you can get some really good recommendations, and even blends, for espresso.

During the warmer seasons there’s places to sit outside on the street and really feel how old this part of the city is.

And, as you probably guessed it already, you should definitely try the espresso paired with a homemade biscuit, if its available at the time of your visit.
