When the Family Coffee Roasters first opened in Plovdiv it was a breath of fresh air to the coffee scene.

I remember their first location, years ago which opposite the current one. It was way smaller but the cozy vibe was there. Now, two locations later, they still serve one of the best coffees in Plovdiv and are always a must-stop when I’m in town visiting family.

This particular location is at the very center of the city on a street the locals call the “Small main street” and it’s a great place if you want to see friends over coffee (or you’re trying to escape the hellish summer heat).

Keep in mind - if you’re looking for a place to work remotely, this is not it as laptops are not welcome and there’s no Wi-Fi.

My personal recommendation here would be an espresso or cold brew in the summer.

Fun fact -the first Bulgarian Aeropress champion was a barista working for the Family.
